Symptoms of Excessive Dampness in the Body
Recently, I have been experiencing a feeling of heaviness in my joints on rainy days, and I also feel that there is excessive dampness in my body. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with excessive dampness in the body?

Body dampness is a concept in traditional Chinese medicine, mainly referring to an imbalance in the body's water metabolism, leading to the internal generation of dampness. This condition may manifest in the following ways:
1. Digestive system symptoms: such as loss of appetite, abdominal distension, loose or sticky stools, and indigestion.
2. Skin problems: eczema, acne, oily or itchy skin, and excessive, sticky perspiration.
3. Joint discomfort: a feeling of heaviness in the joints, particularly noticeable during cloudy or rainy weather.
4. Fatigue and lethargy: individuals with excessive dampness often feel tired and weak, with heavy limbs and even a sensation of heaviness in the head and lightness in the feet, as if wrapped in a wet cloth, making it difficult to feel energetic.
5. General weakness and dizziness: constantly feeling exhausted throughout the body, lacking energy to carry out daily tasks, preferring to lie in bed, and even experiencing dizziness.
6. Lower limb edema: when dampness is severe within the body, excess water and waste products may accumulate, causing swelling in the lower limbs.
7. Oily skin: individuals with excessive dampness tend to have oily facial skin and hair, possible yellowish complexion, and may develop skin issues such as acne and eczema.
