Disease description:

I always feel that something is not quite right with my body. When I wake up in the morning, my head feels foggy, as if wrapped in a mist. While brushing my teeth and looking in the mirror, I notice that my tongue coating is thick and greasy, with tooth marks. Moreover, my stools are consistently sticky and don't flush away easily. Could this mean I have excessive dampness in my body? What are the common symptoms of excessive dampness?

In general, the manifestations of excessive dampness include:

1. Physical sensations: Patients often feel heavy in the body, with aching limbs, a sensation of being unclean all over, easy fatigue, and decreased memory.

2. Digestive system: Poor appetite is common, often accompanied by chest tightness, abdominal distension, a sticky and uncomfortable feeling in the mouth, and significantly reduced appetite. This primarily occurs because dampness invades the spleen, thereby adversely affecting its normal function of transformation and transportation.

3. Skin manifestations: The face becomes excessively oily, hair is prone to oiliness, and skin may become rough with the appearance of acne and other issues.

4. Excretory system: Stools are sticky, unformed, and leave a feeling of incomplete evacuation; they tend to stick to the toilet bowl and are difficult to flush away. This is also a clear symptom of excessive dampness.

5. Tongue changes: A thick, greasy coating on the tongue, a swollen tongue body, and tooth marks along the edges are all typical symptoms.

6. Mental fatigue: Feeling sleepy easily and having difficulty concentrating.

In daily life, one can eat more foods that strengthen the spleen and resolve dampness, such as coix seed, red beans, Chinese yam, and engage in appropriate physical activity to promote the circulation of qi and blood, thus achieving the goal of eliminating dampness.
