How to reduce a child's fever of 39 degrees Celsius
At night, I got up and noticed the child's body was very hot. After taking the temperature, I found that the child had a fever of 39°C. I would like to ask, how can I reduce the child's fever of 39°C?

In the case of a child's fever rising to 39°C, parents should remain calm and take scientifically sound cooling measures:
1. Medication for fever reduction:
Administer an appropriate dose of fever-reducing medication under a doctor's guidance, such as acetaminophen (suitable for infants aged 2 months and above) or ibuprofen (suitable for infants aged 6 months and above). Following medical advice or the dosage instructions on the medication label can effectively lower body temperature. If fever recurs, the fever-reducing medication may be administered again after 4-6 hours.
2. Physical cooling:
Use lukewarm water to sponge the child or apply cold compresses to the forehead, armpits, and groin area to help dissipate heat. Giving the child a lukewarm bath may also help, but avoid using cold water to prevent chills. If the child is cooperative, physical cooling can be used alongside medication.
3. Hydration:
As the child will sweat heavily during fever, encourage increased water intake to replenish body fluids and prevent dehydration.
4. Seek timely medical attention:
While implementing both medication and physical cooling measures, promptly take the child to the hospital for diagnosis of the underlying cause of fever and appropriate treatment.
Following the above measures should effectively reduce the child's body temperature. If the high fever persists or is accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty breathing, rash, or convulsions, seek immediate medical attention.
