Symptoms of blood clots
May I ask, my husband often experiences dizziness and limb numbness. Once, he even fainted and was sent to the hospital. A relative mentioned that he might have a blood clot. I would like to know what symptoms are associated with blood clots?

Thrombosis, medically referred to as a blood clot formed within a blood vessel, can occur in either arteries or veins and may trigger a series of symptoms and health problems. Its manifestations vary depending on the location of the clot formation. The following are several common symptoms of thrombosis:
1. Arterial thrombosis: May cause acute ischemic stroke or myocardial infarction,表现为sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arms, or legs, especially on one side of the body; slurred speech; severe headache; chest pain; nausea or vomiting.
2. Pulmonary thrombosis: Known as pulmonary embolism, it may lead to shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing, even coughing up blood, and rapid heartbeat.
3. Venous thrombosis: Particularly deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the lower limbs, common symptoms include swelling, pain or tenderness in the affected area, skin redness or discoloration, and a feeling of warmth in the leg.
If symptoms related to thrombosis are suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought to prevent serious complications. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, such as regular physical activity and avoiding prolonged sitting, are effective measures to reduce the risk of thrombosis.
