Chronic Gastritis and Cholecystitis: What Fruits to Eat
Doctor, I am in poor health and have been diagnosed with both chronic gastritis and cholecystitis. May I ask which fruits can I eat?

Patients with chronic gastritis and cholecystitis should avoid highly acidic or high-fat fruits when selecting fruits, in order to prevent irritation to the gastric mucosa or increased burden on the gallbladder.
1. Neutral and sweet fruits: such as apples, oranges, peaches, apricots, grapes, strawberries, etc., which can benefit the spleen and stomach, harmonize the stomach, and relieve vomiting, helping to alleviate symptoms such as indigestion, diarrhea, and loss of appetite.
2. Slightly warm-natured fruits: such as kumquats, lychees, longans, etc., which have functions of strengthening the spleen and vital energy, warming the middle jiao, and nourishing the stomach, making them suitable for patients with chronic gastritis.
3. Ripe papayas: Papaya contains papain, which aids in protein digestion; however, only fully ripe papayas should be selected, as unripe papayas may irritate the stomach.
4. Citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons: although rich in vitamin C, they are highly acidic and their intake should be controlled.
Patients with chronic gastritis and cholecystitis can choose fresh, seasonal fruits rich in vitamins and fiber, but should avoid consuming fruits that are excessively cold, acidic, or high in fat, to prevent worsening of their condition.
