Dr. Cao Zhiqiang

Urinary occult blood, edema, and back pain are common symptoms of urinary system diseases. Urinary occult blood may be associated with various causes such as urinary tract inflammation, stones, tumors, and more, while edema and back pain may also be caused by kidney disease. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and generally includes:

1. Urinary occult blood: Treat the underlying condition; for example, nephritis may require treatment with hormones or immunosuppressants, while kidney stones may require extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy or surgery.

2. Edema: Limit salt intake and use diuretics to alleviate symptoms.

3. Back pain: Manage pain, using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) if necessary to relieve discomfort.

4. Other drug treatments: Based on the specific cause, doctors may prescribe appropriate medications. For urinary tract infections, antibiotics such as cephalosporins or levofloxacin may be used; for kidney stones, medications such as lithiasis granules may be prescribed; for glomerulonephritis, medications such as potassium penicillin V or cefixime granules may be used to alleviate symptoms.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical consultation and undergo targeted treatment under the guidance of a physician.
