Dr. Liu Wenmin

Scrotal eczema is not contagious and cannot be transmitted to others through contact, air, or other routes.

Scrotal eczema is a common skin condition, and its development may be related to genetic factors, allergic reactions, local moisture, friction irritation, endocrine disorders, psychological stress, and other factors. It mainly presents with symptoms such as erythema, papules, erosion, exudation, crusting, and scaling on the scrotal skin.

In terms of treatment, patients should avoid known triggering factors, maintain local cleanliness and dryness, wear loose and breathable underwear, and avoid using detergents and skincare products that may cause allergies. For more severe symptoms, topical or oral anti-inflammatory and antiallergic medications may be used. During treatment, patients should closely monitor changes in their condition and attend regular follow-up appointments.

Although scrotal eczema itself is not contagious, patients should still maintain good personal hygiene, avoid excessive scratching and washing with hot water, to prevent worsening of the condition or secondary infection.
