ECG Examination Procedure
I just graduated and found a job that requires an ECG examination. I've never done one before. Could you please tell me what are the steps involved in an ECG checkup?

Steps for ECG Examination:
1. Preparation Phase: The patient needs to lie flat on the examination table, exposing the wrists, ankles, and chest area so that the physician can attach the electrodes. The patient should remain calm and avoid anxiety or rapid breathing to help obtain more accurate results. In some cases, the patient may need to remove upper body clothing and metal jewelry to prevent interference with the ECG signals.
2. Attaching Electrodes: The physician will connect the electrodes to the corresponding areas on the patient's body. At this time, the patient should remain still to prevent the electrodes from becoming detached.
3. Recording the ECG: Once the electrodes are properly attached, the physician will activate the ECG machine to record the heart's electrical activity. During this process, the patient should maintain steady breathing and emotional calmness and should not speak, to ensure stable and clear ECG waveforms. The entire recording process usually takes less than half a minute.
4. Analyzing the ECG: After the recording is completed, the physician will analyze the ECG, evaluate the heart's parameters, and make a diagnosis based on the patient's clinical symptoms and other test results.
