Normal heart rate range during vigorous exercise
Recently, while exercising at the gym, after running on the treadmill at maximum speed for ten minutes, I felt as if my heart would jump out. May I ask, what is the normal heart rate range during vigorous exercise?
During high-intensity exercise, the appropriate heart rate range is highly individualized and influenced by multiple factors such as age, overall health, and physical fitness.
Heart rate increases significantly during vigorous exercise to meet the body's metabolic demands. For the average adult, heart rate typically falls within the range of 140 to 180 beats per minute during intense physical activity, although this is only a general estimate based on typical scenarios.
However, due to individual differences, exercise intensity, type of activity, and other factors, actual heart rate may vary. For a healthy 30-year-old adult, the estimated theoretical maximum heart rate is approximately 190 beats per minute. However, the safe heart rate range during vigorous exercise may be more accurately defined as 65% to 85% of the maximum heart rate, which translates to approximately 123.5 to 159.5 beats per minute, or rounded to 124 to 160 beats per minute.
If you have concerns or experience any symptoms of discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical advice promptly.
