Tachycardia, medically defined as a heart rate exceeding 100 beats per minute, has complex causes.

From a physiological perspective, increased heart rate can be a natural response of the body to specific situations, such as excessive physical exertion, high-intensity exercise, significant emotional fluctuations (such as excitement or nervousness), and consumption of stimulating beverages containing caffeine, strong tea, or coffee. In these cases, the accelerated heart rate represents a normal physiological adjustment as the body responds to and adapts to the current condition.

Tachycardia may also arise from pathological factors, including but not limited to cardiac diseases, endocrine abnormalities such as hyperthyroidism, reduced oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood due to anemia, internal environmental imbalances caused by electrolyte disturbances, and side effects of certain medications (such as specific ingredients in cold medicines or stimulant drugs). Additionally, prolonged mental anxiety and accumulated stress can also lead to tachycardia.

If concerns arise, timely medical consultation and examination are recommended.
