The normal resting heart rate for adults typically ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute. This range applies to most adults. However, this standard is not absolute, as several factors can influence heart rate, including age, health status, physical activity level, and whether certain medications are being taken.

Children's normal heart rate ranges differ and gradually decrease with age. Newborns generally have a heart rate between 120 and 140 beats per minute; infants under one year old have a heart rate between 110 and 130 beats per minute; toddlers aged 1 to 3 years have a heart rate between 100 and 120 beats per minute; and children aged 8 to 12 years gradually reach a heart rate range of 70 to 90 beats per minute.

Athletes or individuals who exercise regularly may have lower resting heart rates, sometimes even below 60 beats per minute, which is usually a sign of good physical fitness and efficient cardiovascular function.

If heart rate remains outside the normal range for an extended period and is accompanied by other symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain, or fainting, it is advisable to seek timely medical evaluation.
