Acne vulgaris, commonly known as "youth pimples" or "pimples," is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit. Its causes mainly include the following aspects:

1. Abnormal follicular keratinization: excessive keratinization of epithelial cells at the follicular opening leads to follicular obstruction, forming microcomedones, which is the initial step in the development of acne.

2. Excessive sebum production: elevated androgen levels can stimulate sebaceous glands to enlarge and increase sebum production, providing the material basis for the occurrence of acne.

3. Microbial infection: particularly the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes, which breaks down sebum to produce free fatty acids that irritate the hair follicle and surrounding tissues, causing inflammatory reactions.

4. Inflammatory response: accumulation of white blood cells releases inflammatory mediators, further exacerbating inflammation and leading to the formation of inflammatory papules and pustules.

5. Dietary factors: excessive intake of spicy, stimulating, greasy, and high-sugar foods can promote sebum secretion and increase the risk of developing pimples.

6. Lifestyle habits: long-term late nights and irregular living schedules can lead to decreased immunity, bacterial growth within hair follicles, and thus trigger pimples.

Therefore, preventing the occurrence of pimples requires regulation and improvement from multiple aspects.
