Why do my feet go numb after squatting for a long time?
I've noticed that whenever I squat for a long time, my feet become numb and it feels as if many tiny insects are crawling all over them, which is extremely uncomfortable. Each time, I need quite a while to fully recover. I just want to know why this happens.

Primary reasons for feet numbness after squatting for a long time:
1. Poor blood circulation: Prolonged squatting can obstruct blood circulation in the lower limbs, especially when both legs are folded, compressing the veins and blood vessels in the lower limbs and affecting normal blood return. This can lead to insufficient blood supply to the lower limbs, especially the feet, causing a numb sensation.
2. Nerve compression: The sciatic nerve at the back of the thigh is stretched, and the muscles and bone structures in the lower leg may also exert additional pressure on the nerves. This sustained pressure interferes with the normal transmission of nerve signals, resulting in abnormal sensations, commonly known as "numb feet" or "loss of feeling." Once the posture is changed and pressure on the nerves is relieved, blood circulation resumes and nerve function gradually returns to normal, allowing sensation in the feet to slowly recover.
To prevent feet numbness from prolonged squatting, it is recommended to change postures regularly and avoid maintaining the same position for extended periods. In addition, appropriate leg exercises can promote blood circulation and reduce the chances of nerve compression.
