Risks of Anterior Pelvic Tilt
After anterior pelvic tilt, my abdomen always protrudes forward, and the gap between my lower back and the wall becomes larger. Additionally, my waist becomes very sore and painful after standing or walking for a long time. My current posture also looks really unattractive, which is quite distressing. Besides making me look less attractive, what other harmful effects does anterior pelvic tilt have?

Anterior pelvic tilt is characterized by the pelvis tilting forward, resulting in an excessive lumbar lordosis.
Consequences of anterior pelvic tilt:
1. Increased stress on the lumbar spine: Anterior pelvic tilt causes excessive lumbar lordosis, increasing pressure on the lumbar spine. Over time, this can lead to low back pain, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, and other problems. The increased pressure can also affect the function of muscles and nerves around the lumbar spine, further aggravating pain symptoms.
2. Hip joint issues: Due to the altered position of the pelvis, the normal force alignment of the hip joint is affected, which may accelerate wear of the internal structures of the hip joint and increase the risk of hip osteoarthritis.
3. Increased stress on the knee joints: Anterior pelvic tilt causes misalignment of the lower limbs, resulting in uneven loading of the knee joints. This may lead to knee pain, patellar softening, and other knee-related problems.
4. Spinal damage: Anterior pelvic tilt can further affect the balance of the entire spine, causing abnormal curvatures in the thoracic and cervical spine, increasing the incidence of spinal disorders such as cervical spondylosis and thoracic scoliosis.
5. Impaired respiratory function: Anterior pelvic tilt may alter the relative positioning between the pelvis and the thoracic cavity, affecting respiratory function and causing breathing difficulties. This may lead to insufficient oxygen intake and negatively affect overall health.
6. Body proportion imbalance and aesthetic impact: Anterior pelvic tilt causes the buttocks to protrude significantly backward and the lower abdomen to protrude forward, affecting body contours and appearance.
