Best treatment for tendonitis
I have recently been experiencing severe pain near a certain joint, especially when moving, where the pain becomes more noticeable. Later, I went to see a doctor, and was diagnosed with tendonitis. Now, even slight movement of that area causes discomfort, and there is also swelling. Is there anything I can do to recover more quickly?

The treatment of tendonitis mainly aims to relieve symptoms, promote healing, and restore function. Common treatment methods include:
1. Rest: Reduce activity of the affected area, avoid further injury, and help reduce inflammation.
2. Immobilization: If tendonitis occurs in the upper limb, a brace or plaster cast can be used to fix the area in an appropriate functional position to promote tissue healing.
3. Ice application: During the acute phase, apply ice to the affected area for 20 minutes every few hours to help reduce swelling and pain.
4. Shockwave therapy: Extracorporeal shockwave therapy can disrupt fibrous tissue, promote angiogenesis and tissue healing.
5. Medication: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen capsules or aspirin capsules, can help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. During the acute phase, short-term local injection of corticosteroids may help control severe inflammation, but should be used cautiously to avoid frequent or long-term use that could lead to tendon degeneration.
