The main treatments for intestinal adhesions include the following:

1. Conservative treatment:

General treatment: Includes maintaining a proper diet, eating easily digestible and soft foods, and avoiding raw, hard, sticky, or cold foods. Additionally, symptoms may be relieved through methods such as applying heat packs and abdominal massage.

Medication: Intestinal adhesions caused by inflammation may be treated with anti-inflammatory medications such as antibiotics. Furthermore, medications that regulate intestinal flora, such as Bifidobacterium, may also be used to aid in treatment.

Physical therapy: Such as infrared or ultraviolet therapy, which can help reduce inflammation and improve blood circulation.

2. Surgical treatment:

When conservative treatments are ineffective or when intestinal adhesions lead to severe complications such as intestinal obstruction, surgical treatment is required. Common surgical procedures include adhesiolysis and bowel resection with anastomosis. Among these, laparoscopic adhesiolysis offers the advantages of minimal trauma and faster recovery.

3. Postoperative care: After surgery, attention should be given to dietary adjustments, such as consuming liquid and warm-natured foods, and eating appropriate amounts of vegetables and fruits to promote intestinal motility and digestion. At the same time, adequate rest and warmth should be maintained, and strenuous exercise should be avoided.
