Can I drink green tea with bone spurs?
Recently, I was diagnosed with bone spurs, and sometimes I feel a bit of joint pain, especially after increased physical activity. I really enjoy drinking green tea on a regular basis. I'm wondering if I can still continue drinking green tea with bone spurs? Could drinking green tea affect the treatment effectiveness for bone spurs?

Patients with bone spurs can drink green tea in moderation.
Bone spurs are a common skeletal condition, usually associated with aging, joint wear and tear, or genetic factors. Patients may experience symptoms such as joint pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. Some components in green tea may help relieve inflammation and support bone health.
Green tea is rich in vitamin C and antioxidant substances, which can help promote metabolism and blood circulation, offering certain benefits for improving joint function. Additionally, the catechins in green tea have anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce joint inflammation and thereby alleviate pain caused by bone spurs.
However, green tea consumption should be moderate. Green tea contains caffeine, and excessive caffeine intake may interfere with calcium absorption. Therefore, moderate consumption of green tea is acceptable, but overconsumption should be avoided to prevent adverse effects on calcium absorption.
If patients have allergic reactions to components in green tea, such as itching or swelling of the skin, they should avoid drinking green tea.
