Cervical Vertigo and Nausea: Quick Relief
What are the effective ways to quickly relieve symptoms such as dizziness and nausea caused by cervical spondylosis?

Dizziness and nausea caused by cervical spondylosis are common clinical symptoms, primarily related to insufficient blood supply to the brain due to conditions such as cervical disc herniation, cervical joint dysfunction, or compression of the vertebral artery.
1. Rest and postural adjustment: Immediately stop any activity that may aggravate cervical strain. Lie flat or adopt a semi-reclining position and use a pillow of appropriate height to reduce pressure on the neck.
2. Heat or cold application: Choose according to personal preference. Heat application helps relax muscles and improve blood circulation, while cold application can reduce inflammation and swelling. Apply for approximately 15–20 minutes each time, avoiding direct skin contact to prevent burns or frostbite.
3. Gentle massage: Focus on massaging the neck and shoulder muscles to promote blood circulation and relieve muscle tension.
4. Neck immobilization: Use a cervical collar or neck brace to stabilize the neck, reduce cervical movement, alleviate pressure on the vertebral artery, and improve cerebral blood supply.
5. Medication: Follow medical advice to use medications that dilate blood vessels and improve circulation, such as flunarizine (Sibelium) or betahistine (Merislon), to alleviate symptoms. Patients experiencing severe nausea may also use antiemetic drugs.
6. Adjust lifestyle habits: Avoid prolonged head-down positions, working at a desk, or using mobile phones with poor posture. Regularly perform neck exercises and maintain proper sitting and sleeping postures.
