What causes a tingling sensation on the face?
I don't know what's been going on these past couple of days, but my face has been feeling numb and tingly. Additionally, I feel a slight pain when touching it. I would like to know what could be causing this facial numbness?

Possible causes of facial numbness:
1. Environmental factors: Exposure to excessively cold temperatures or prolonged pressure on the face may affect local nerves, leading to facial numbness. This condition can usually be relieved by keeping warm and avoiding prolonged pressure.
2. Autonomic nervous system dysfunction: High levels of mental stress or frequent late nights may lead to autonomic nervous system disorders, causing symptoms such as facial numbness. In such cases, adequate rest, mood improvement, and the use of nerve-nourishing medications under a doctor's guidance are recommended.
3. Allergy: Contact with allergens or irritating cosmetics on the face may trigger an immune response, causing facial numbness, itching, and rashes. Immediate removal from the allergen and the use of antiallergic medications under a doctor's guidance are advised.
4. Neurological diseases: Conditions such as facial nerve paralysis or trigeminal nerve inflammation may damage the facial nerves due to infection, trauma, or compression, resulting in facial numbness. Treatment should target the underlying cause, such as using nerve-nourishing medications or acupuncture.
5. Cervical spondylosis: Lesions in the cervical spine may compress facial nerves such as the trigeminal nerve, causing facial numbness. Symptoms may be relieved through treatments such as cervical traction.
If you experience a tingling or numb sensation on your face, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.
