Petit mal seizures, also known as absence seizures, mainly include the following symptoms:

1. Brief loss of consciousness: During daily activities, patients suddenly stop their current actions, their gaze becomes vacant, and they show no response to environmental stimuli. This condition lasts from several seconds to dozens of seconds. This absent state is a typical manifestation of petit mal seizures.

2. Interruption of movement: During the absence episode, the patient's ongoing activity suddenly stops. After the seizure ends, the patient may resume the previous activity but has no memory of events during the seizure.

3. Decreased muscle tone: Some patients experience reduced muscle tone during minor seizures, which may cause them to drop objects held in their hands or adopt a generally floppy posture.

4. Automatism: After a petit mal seizure, some patients may exhibit unconscious automatisms, such as touching the face, chewing, or swallowing motions.

5. Other symptoms: Some patients may also experience facial rigidity, fixed staring with both eyes, or pallor. However, these symptoms do not occur in every seizure and are usually of short duration.

If the above symptoms occur, prompt medical attention is necessary.
