Encephalitis is an inflammatory disease of brain tissue, caused by viral infections such as herpes simplex virus, enterovirus, etc. Symptoms may include:

1. Fever: Body temperature may reach 39°C or higher, accompanied by persistent headache, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and general fatigue.

2. Altered consciousness: Such as drowsiness or coma. These disturbances may appear 1 to 3 days after onset and their duration varies depending on the severity of illness.

3. Neurological symptoms: Including seizures, convulsions, limb paralysis, vision problems, hearing loss, difficulty walking or poor coordination, and neck stiffness. These symptoms may result from lesions in different areas of the brain and varying degrees of damage.

4. Other symptoms: Systemic infectious and toxic symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and generalized body aches may also occur.

If encephalitis is suspected, immediate medical attention and treatment are necessary.
