Causes of leg pain and swelling:

1. Varicose veins: Varicose veins can cause poor blood circulation and blood blockage in the legs, leading to leg pain and swelling. Patients with varicose veins may experience leg pain and swelling along with discomfort during movement.

2. Fatigue: Prolonged physical activity or excessive exercise can increase lactic acid levels in the legs, resulting in leg pain and swelling.

3. Arthritis: Arthritis in the legs may lead to reduced joint function, causing joint swelling and impaired blood circulation, which can result in leg pain and swelling.

4. Lumbar disc herniation: Compression of nerve roots due to lumbar disc herniation may cause leg pain and swelling.

5. Sciatic nerve disorders: Sciatica caused by conditions such as piriformis syndrome may also trigger leg pain and swelling.

6. Medical conditions: Deep vein thrombosis and peripheral artery disease may also cause leg pain and swelling. Endocrine disorders, such as thyroid dysfunction and menopausal syndrome, can also indirectly cause leg discomfort.
