Vulvar contact dermatitis is a common skin condition characterized by symptoms such as redness, itching, pain, burning sensation, and swelling in the vulvar area. The treatment of vulvar contact dermatitis mainly involves the following aspects:

1. Elimination of causative factors: Identify and remove substances causing the dermatitis, such as medications, cosmetics, or other potentially contacted items. If the exact cause cannot be determined, it is recommended to discontinue any currently used topical medications and clean the vulvar area daily with water to monitor treatment response.

2. Local treatment: When only redness and papules are present without exudation, calamine lotion may be used to relieve symptoms. If there is significant inflammatory exudate during the acute phase, cold compresses with normal saline or 3% boric acid solution can be applied.

3. Systemic treatment: In severe cases, oral corticosteroids or immunosuppressants may be required. Patients with severe allergic dermatitis may consider systemic treatment with adrenal corticosteroid drugs, such as dexamethasone.

During treatment, maintaining good personal hygiene, wearing loose-fitting, breathable cotton underwear, and avoiding direct cleansing of the vulvar area with chemical products such as soap or shower gel can also help prevent and treat vulvar contact dermatitis.
