Seborrheic dermatitis is a common chronic inflammatory skin condition that may be associated with genetic factors, excessive sebum production, psychological factors, lifestyle habits, and other elements.

Genetic factors play a significant role in the development of seborrheic dermatitis, with many cases showing evidence of hereditary predisposition. Excessive sebum production is one of the important triggers for seborrheic dermatitis. Overactive sebaceous glands lead to an excess of oil on the skin surface, providing a favorable environment for microorganisms such as Malassezia. The overgrowth of these microbes further irritates the skin and triggers inflammatory reactions.

Psychological factors such as stress and anxiety can affect the body's endocrine balance and indirectly promote the onset of seborrheic dermatitis. Over-cleansing or improper hair-washing habits, such as washing hair too frequently or not frequently enough, and using irritating hair care products, can also damage the skin barrier function and lead to seborrheic dermatitis.

Implementing comprehensive treatment measures according to different causes can effectively control the condition and improve patients' quality of life. If discomfort occurs, timely medical consultation is recommended.
