The symptoms of lung cancer may not be obvious in the early stages of the disease, becoming more apparent as the condition progresses.

Coughing is one of the most common symptoms in patients with lung cancer, especially a persistent dry cough or coughing up blood. This type of cough may be new and persistent, producing sputum with blood streaks or frank hemoptysis. Chest pain is also a common manifestation of lung cancer, presenting as dull or sharp pain that worsens with breathing or coughing. Additionally, shortness of breath may occur, where patients feel breathless, especially during physical activity, possibly due to airway obstruction or pressure on the lungs from the tumor. If brain metastasis occurs, patients may experience symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and ataxia.

When these symptoms appear, it is important to seek timely medical evaluation for comprehensive examinations to rule out or confirm lung cancer and other serious conditions. To prevent lung cancer, it is essential to quit smoking, avoid exposure to secondhand smoke, undergo regular check-ups, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
