Renal insufficiency varies greatly in treatment outcomes and prognosis depending on its severity and underlying causes. In general, acute renal insufficiency has a relatively favorable prognosis in most cases if the cause is promptly identified and actively treated, with the possibility of full recovery. Conditions such as acute tubular necrosis and rhabdomyolysis syndrome may fall into this category. However, chronic renal insufficiency is a progressive, long-term condition, and its treatment goals mainly focus on delaying further deterioration of renal function rather than achieving a complete cure.

Management of chronic renal insufficiency mainly includes medication therapies, such as irbesartan and benazepril, which are used to reduce urinary protein excretion, control blood pressure, provide nutritional support, manage complications such as anemia and hyperkalemia, and, when necessary, implement renal replacement therapy. Acute kidney injury is often caused by factors such as drug toxicity, infection, ischemia, or obstruction. With timely diagnosis and appropriate interventions, including removal of causative factors, fluid replacement, and correction of electrolyte disturbances, most patients can recover renal function, sometimes even completely.
