Right kidney pain can be caused by various factors:

1. Kidney stones: Kidney stones are solid crystalline structures formed from mineral deposits in urine. When stones move within the kidney or obstruct the urinary tract, they can cause severe pain, usually localized in the flank or side of the abdomen. Additionally, symptoms may include hematuria (blood in urine), frequent urination, urgency, nausea, and vomiting.

2. Pyelonephritis: This is an infection-induced inflammation of the upper urinary tract and kidneys. Common symptoms include fever, chills, dull or distending pain in the flank or abdomen, as well as urinary frequency, urgency, dysuria (painful urination), and hematuria. The inflammation may lead to localized kidney swelling and pain.

3. Renal cysts: Renal cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop within the kidneys. When cysts become large or infected, they may compress surrounding tissues, causing kidney pain. Some cysts may rupture following external trauma, resulting in localized pain.

4. Kidney tumors: These include both benign and malignant tumors, such as renal cell carcinoma and Wilms' tumor. In early stages, they may present no obvious symptoms. As the tumor grows, symptoms such as flank pain and hematuria may develop.
