Sometimes I have to attend social events where I end up drinking a lot of alcohol, which makes me prone to getting drunk. I would like to ask, what foods are effective for sobering up?

When alleviating the effects of alcohol, fruits can be considered first. For example, the tartaric acid in grapes can combine with alcohol to form esters, thereby reducing alcohol concentration. Watermelon, due to its diuretic effect, helps accelerate alcohol excretion.
Foods rich in vitamin B can also help relieve the effects of alcohol. Alcohol consumption depletes B vitamins in the body, while the B-vitamin complex supports normal nervous system function. Therefore, consuming foods rich in B vitamins, such as whole grains, lean meats, and legumes, can replenish the B vitamins depleted by alcohol consumption and aid in restoring physical and mental condition.
In addition, both sugar water and honey water can assist in breaking down alcohol, reducing its concentration in the body and providing energy. Porridge-type foods, such as millet porridge and mung bean porridge, can protect the gastric mucosa and reduce alcohol-induced irritation to the stomach.
However, although these foods and beverages can offer some relief, the most effective approach remains moderate alcohol consumption and maintaining adequate hydration during drinking. Individuals experiencing severe intoxication or other adverse symptoms should seek timely medical attention.
