Here are some common symptoms of epididymitis:

1. Swelling and pain in the testicles: Epididymitis often causes swelling and pain in the testicles, ranging from mild discomfort to severe pain, typically affecting one testicle.

2. Scrotal discomfort: Because the epididymis is located within the scrotum, inflammation can cause congestion and swelling of the scrotum, leading to redness, dampness, and even a sensation of dragging or heaviness.

3. Blood in the semen: In severe cases, ulcers in the epididymis may exude blood and pus, which can mix with semen during ejaculation, resulting in hematospermia.

4. Sexual dysfunction: In some cases, epididymitis may lead to reduced libido, erectile dysfunction, or pain during ejaculation.

5. Urinary dysfunction: Patients with epididymitis often have concurrent inflammation of the urinary system, such as the prostate or bladder, manifesting as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, or urgent urination.

6. General malaise: Patients may feel fatigued, weak, or generally unwell.

If any of the above symptoms occur, especially severe pain or high fever, immediate medical attention is necessary. During treatment, patients should avoid sexual activity to reduce the risk of worsening symptoms or transmitting the infection to partners.
