Dr. Shen Yonghua

Stomach pain after drinking alcohol is usually caused by alcohol irritating the gastric mucosa, leading to increased secretion of gastric acid and resulting in gastrointestinal discomfort. To alleviate this condition, the following measures can be taken:

1. Drink warm water: Drinking an appropriate amount of warm water can help dilute alcohol and gastric acid in the stomach, reducing irritation to the gastric mucosa.

2. Eat some food: Consuming easily digestible foods, such as bread, steamed buns, or biscuits, can help absorb alcohol in the stomach and protect the gastric mucosa. Avoid spicy, greasy, or overly hot foods, as they may worsen stomach discomfort.

3. Take medication: Under a doctor's guidance, medications such as hydrotalcite granules or colloidal bismuth pectin capsules can be taken to protect the gastric mucosa, or drugs like rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated tablets or cimetidine tablets can be used to inhibit gastric acid secretion.

4. Avoid drinking again: During the period of stomach discomfort, further alcohol consumption should be avoided to allow sufficient time for the stomach to recover.

However, if the stomach pain persists or worsens, prompt medical attention should be sought to avoid delaying treatment.
