What are the symptoms of spleen deficiency?
I always seem to get sick easily. After consulting a doctor at a TCM clinic, I was told I have spleen deficiency. What are the symptoms of spleen deficiency?

Spleen deficiency mainly refers to weakened spleen function, which affects physiological processes such as digestion and absorption, blood formation, and fluid metabolism. The symptoms of spleen deficiency are varied and primarily include the following aspects:
1. Digestive system symptoms: such as poor appetite, reduced food intake, abdominal distension (especially noticeable after eating), loose or unformed stools, and even diarrhea. These symptoms result from diminished transforming and transporting functions of the spleen, leading to inadequate digestion and absorption of food.
2. Manifestations of Qi and blood deficiency: the spleen is the source of Qi and blood production. Spleen deficiency can lead to insufficient generation of Qi and blood, causing symptoms such as pale complexion, fatigue, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, blurred vision, pale lips, and pale nails.
3. Internal accumulation of dampness: spleen deficiency impairs the normal transformation and transportation of body fluids, easily leading to excessive dampness in the body. This may manifest as heaviness and fatigue in the limbs, edema, difficult or reduced urination, a thick white tongue coating, and a sticky mouth sensation.
4. Muscle and limb problems: the spleen governs muscles and limbs. Spleen deficiency can lead to flaccid and weak muscles, limb fatigue, and even muscle atrophy.
Therefore, when related symptoms appear, timely medical attention should be sought.
