Uterine prolapse is a type of pelvic organ prolapse and is more common in women who have had multiple births, sustained childbirth injuries, or long-term increased abdominal pressure. Methods for the recovery of uterine prolapse mainly include:

1. Non-surgical treatment, suitable for patients with mild prolapse or those unwilling to undergo surgery. Pelvic floor muscle exercises, such as Kegel exercises, can enhance the tension and control of the pelvic floor muscles. A pessary also can be used to relieve symptoms through physical support. Additionally, lifestyle improvements are important; heavy physical labor should be avoided, and activities that increase abdominal pressure should be minimized.

If the uterine prolapse is not severe, it can also be improved through exercises such as the pubococcygeus muscle exercise, cycling movements, and scissor exercises, which help strengthen and restore the pelvic floor muscles.

2. Surgical treatment—For moderate to severe prolapse or cases unresponsive to conservative treatment, surgery may be considered. Common procedures include anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair, vaginal closure, sacrospinous ligament fixation, etc. An appropriate surgical method should be selected with the aim of restoring pelvic anatomy, elevating the position of the uterus, and preserving reproductive function as much as possible.

3. Medication therapy—for mild uterine prolapse, certain traditional Chinese medicine preparations can be used as adjunctive treatments, such as Buzhong Yiqi Wan (tonifying middle energizer and invigorating qi pill), Renshen Jianpi Wan (ginseng spleen-strengthening pill), etc.

During the recovery period, strenuous exercise should be avoided, a positive mindset should be maintained, and a nutritious diet rich in fruits and vegetables, such as dragon fruit and spinach, is recommended. Attention should also be given to dietary regulation, including drinking plenty of water and consuming foods that help replenish energy and support kidney function.
