Dr. Tian Hongbo

Contrast imaging is a medical examination method that enhances the visibility of internal organs or structures by introducing a contrast agent. The procedure is as follows:

1. Consultation and physical examination: A comprehensive understanding of the patient's symptoms and medical history is obtained to determine the appropriate type of contrast imaging.

2. Preparation phase: Patients are generally required to fast, stopping food intake 4-6 hours before the examination. Additionally, all metal objects must be removed to avoid interference with the imaging equipment.

3. Contrast agent injection: Prior to the X-ray, CT, or MRI examination, medical staff will inject the contrast agent into the patient's blood vessel. This special medication contains ingredients such as iodine or gadolinium, which make the organs' blood vessels and tissues more clearly visible in the images.

4. Image acquisition: After the contrast agent is injected, the patient will be transferred to the X-ray, CT, or MRI room for examination. The equipment is operated to collect images and obtain clear visuals of the internal organs.

5. Processing and analysis: After the examination, the acquired images are analyzed to assess the patient's health condition, based on which a subsequent treatment plan is formulated.

However, some individuals may be allergic to the contrast agent, so it is important to inform the doctor of any personal history of allergies or other health conditions before the examination to ensure safety.
