Can Hashimoto's thyroiditis be cured?
Diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I'm very concerned. I would like to know if Hashimoto's thyroiditis can be cured?

Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disease. Due to dysfunction of the body's immune system, substances that damage thyroid tissue are produced within the body, such as anti-thyroglobulin antibodies and thyroid peroxidase antibodies. Currently, Hashimoto's thyroiditis cannot be completely cured, but with effective management, most patients can live normal lives. The main management methods include:
1. Medication: Taking thyroid hormone replacement therapy, such as levothyroxine (L-T4), and regularly monitoring thyroid function indicators to adjust medication dosage according to test results.
2. Surgical treatment: Such as thyroidectomy, but this only addresses the symptoms of the disease and cannot fundamentally cure it.
3. A healthy lifestyle: Including a balanced diet, avoiding oily, spicy, and other irritating foods, increasing intake of fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement vitamins and minerals; engaging in moderate exercise and avoiding smoking.
Treating Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a long-term process, and patients need patience and perseverance. It is recommended to seek timely medical treatment.
