Peeling skin on the fingers and back of the hands may be caused by dermatitis.

Contact dermatitis is often triggered by exposure to certain irritants or allergens, such as detergents, chemicals, metals, and certain foods. It can cause symptoms including redness, itching, and peeling of the affected skin.

In addition to peeling, symptoms such as itching and blisters are commonly present. Moreover, deficiency in vitamins, especially vitamin A and B-complex vitamins, may also lead to dry, peeling skin.

It is recommended to avoid contact with possible allergens and irritants—for example, wearing gloves while doing housework. Do not scratch the peeling areas, as this may worsen the condition. It is advisable to wash hands with clean water to maintain hand hygiene, followed by application of a mild hand cream. If peeling is accompanied by symptoms such as itching or redness, prompt medical attention is recommended. A doctor can make a diagnosis and provide treatment based on the specific condition.

If the condition is contact dermatitis or eczema, topical corticosteroid creams may be prescribed. If the cause is vitamin deficiency, appropriate vitamin supplements may be taken under a doctor's guidance.
