Can Yaotong Pian effectively treat lumbar disc bulging?
I have been experiencing severe lower back pain recently, and after visiting the hospital, I was diagnosed with lumbar disc bulging. I heard that Lumbar Pain Tablets can treat this condition, but I don't know how effective they really are. Now, not only do I have back pain, but I also sometimes experience numbness in my legs. I would like to know whether Lumbar Pain Tablets can truly cure lumbar disc bulging.
Yaotong Pian has certain auxiliary therapeutic effects on lumbar disc bulge, but its efficacy is limited.
As a type of traditional Chinese medicine, Yaotong Pian has multiple functions such as analgesia, anti-inflammation, and improvement of blood circulation, which can help alleviate pain symptoms caused by lumbar disc bulge. However, it cannot completely cure lumbar disc bulge.
Lumbar disc bulge mainly occurs when the nucleus pulposus within the intervertebral disc protrudes posteriorly or laterally, compressing nerve roots or the spinal cord, causing symptoms such as low back pain and radiating pain in the lower limbs. Treating lumbar disc bulge requires a clear diagnosis and determining the severity and location of the bulge through imaging studies.
Mild bulges can be managed with bed rest, physical therapy, acupuncture, and appropriate rehabilitation exercises to relieve symptoms; however, moderate to severe bulges, especially those accompanied by neurological dysfunction, may require surgical treatment.
Yaotong Pian is only one type of adjunctive medication that can alleviate patients' pain but cannot replace other treatment methods.
