Disease description:

I have been experiencing ligament pain after exercising recently, especially around the knees and ankles. The pain restricts my movement and is quite troubling. What could be causing this? Is it due to overexertion, or could there be other reasons?

Ligament pain is usually caused by multiple factors, including but not limited to the following:

1. Overuse or sports injuries: This is one of the most common causes. During sports, strenuous exercise, or daily activities, if the ligaments are stretched or stressed beyond their normal range, minor tears or inflammation may develop, resulting in pain.

2. Acute injuries: For example, sprains or falls may cause sudden forceful stretching of the ligaments, leading to partial or complete tears. In such cases, the pain can be severe and may be accompanied by swelling and functional impairment.

3. Chronic strain: Strenuous physical activity may place excessive pressure and stretching on ligaments, causing pain. Adequate rest, fingertip massage of the affected area, and maintaining a balance between work and rest in later stages are key to recovery.

4. Inflammation: For example, tendinitis or chronic inflammation of the ligaments may develop due to long-term poor posture or insufficient rest following an injury, leading to pain.

5. Exposure to cold: If proper warmth is not maintained in daily life and the body is exposed to cold stimulation, localized muscle ischemia and pain may be triggered. In such cases, promptly adding warm clothing and applying a hot water bag to the affected area may help alleviate symptoms.

Severe injuries may require physical therapy, medication, or surgical treatment.
