Fluid accumulation around the bones usually refers to an increased amount of fluid within the joint cavity or beneath the periosteum, medically termed joint effusion or subperiosteal effusion. This condition can be caused by various factors, including but not limited to the following:

1. Trauma: When bones experience bruising, fractures, or dislocations, it can easily lead to fluid accumulation within the bone and bone marrow edema.

2. Inflammation: Arthritis is one of the most common causes, such as rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis, etc. Inflammatory stimulation can cause the synovial membrane of the joint to secrete excessive synovial fluid, leading to effusion.

3. Infection: Bacterial, viral, or fungal infections can cause inflammation of the tissues surrounding the joints or bones, producing a large amount of exudate and resulting in fluid accumulation.

4. Prolonged strain: This may lead to aseptic inflammation within the joint, subsequently causing the accumulation of joint fluid and resulting in bone fluid accumulation.

5. Metabolic diseases: Conditions such as hyperthyroidism and nephrotic syndrome may also indirectly lead to fluid accumulation by affecting fluid balance in the body.

6. Congenital or degenerative diseases: Such as congenital joint abnormalities, osteoarthritis, etc. As age increases, joint cartilage continues to wear down and synovial function becomes abnormal, which can also cause effusion.
