Why am I experiencing a fever the day after tomorrow following a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedure, and what should I do?
On the second day after undergoing autologous fat transfer for buttock augmentation, I developed a fever with a slightly elevated body temperature, but there were no other significant discomforts. The patient expressed concern and asked about the possible causes and recommended management measures.

Mild fever after autologous fat transfer to the buttocks is a common postoperative phenomenon, possibly caused by the inflammatory response at the surgical site. However, if the body temperature exceeds 38°C, especially if it persists, this may indicate a risk of infection, and timely medical evaluation is necessary. Postoperative infection is one of the more serious complications and may lead to symptoms such as increased redness, swelling, and pain at the surgical site.
During the first three days, if the temperature fluctuates between 37°C and 38°C and there are no other significant discomforts, observation is recommended and there is no need to panic. If fever causes discomfort, physical cooling methods can be used, such as wiping the body with a warm towel or applying fever patches. If the fever persists or the temperature exceeds 38.5°C, especially accompanied by other symptoms such as redness, swelling, or pain at the wound site, prompt medical attention is advised for proper diagnosis and treatment based on the individual situation.
