Stiffness in the limbs can be a symptom of various diseases, including but not limited to neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and multiple sclerosis, as well as autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. In these cases, although diet cannot directly treat the disease, adjusting eating habits may help alleviate symptoms or improve overall health. Patients experiencing limb stiffness should avoid or limit the following types of food:

1. Spicy or irritating foods: including chili seasonings, pepper powder, mustard, garlic, ginger, onions, and similar items. These foods may stimulate the nervous system, leading to increased muscle stiffness and limb rigidity.

2. High-fat and high-cholesterol foods: such as fried foods, fatty meats, and full-fat dairy products. These foods can lead to weight gain, increasing the burden on the joints, while high cholesterol levels may negatively affect circulation and nervous system health.

3. High-sodium foods: such as preserved foods, salted fish, and cured meats. High salt intake may cause fluid retention, worsening the sensation of limb stiffness.

4. Foods and beverages containing caffeine: intake of these should also be limited, as caffeine may exacerbate nervous system tension.

5. Refined sugars and processed foods: these foods lack nutritional value and can easily lead to blood sugar fluctuations. Long-term excessive consumption may trigger inflammatory responses, worsening symptoms.
