Is it good to take Jingfukang Granules for cervical spondylosis?
I have recently been experiencing neck stiffness, shoulder pain, and sometimes dizziness and numbness in my hands. After visiting the hospital, I was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis. I heard that Jingfukang Granules can treat cervical spondylosis, but I wonder how effective they really are. Is it good to take Jingfukang Granules for cervical spondylosis?

Cervical spondylosis is a very common degenerative disease. Its main symptoms include neck pain and stiffness; some patients may also experience numbness and weakness in the upper limbs.
Jingfukang Granules, as a type of traditional Chinese patent medicine, mainly consist of Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), Honghua (Flos Carthami), Taoren (Semen Persicae), and other ingredients. These components give the medicine functions of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis, dredging meridians, and relieving pain, thereby effectively alleviating symptoms caused by cervical spondylosis to some extent. However, treatment of cervical spondylosis must consider multiple factors comprehensively, such as causes, disease course, and individual differences. Relying solely on medication usually fails to achieve ideal therapeutic effects.
Although Jingfukang Granules can relieve symptoms, they cannot cure cervical spondylosis completely. For patients, more importantly, they should improve their lifestyle habits—for example, maintaining proper sitting and sleeping postures, avoiding prolonged periods of working with the head down or elevated, and regularly exercising the neck muscles. When necessary, non-pharmacological treatments such as physical therapy, massage, or acupuncture should also be considered. Additionally, medication should be selected according to the severity of the condition. Besides traditional Chinese medicines like Jingfukang Granules, western medicines such as anti-inflammatory analgesics and muscle relaxants may also be required.
Therefore, Jingfukang Granules serve only as an adjunctive treatment in managing cervical spondylosis and cannot fully cure the condition, so patients should not overly rely on this method.
