What causes persistent mild abdominal pain?
I often experience mild abdominal pain, sometimes on the lower right side and sometimes on the left. When I feel the pain, I usually have the urge to have a bowel movement, but at times I am unable to do so. Doctor, what could be causing persistent mild abdominal pain?
Possible causes of persistent mild abdominal pain:
1. Digestive system issues: Gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, cholecystitis, gallstones, pancreatitis, enteritis, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, etc.
2. Urinary system issues: Kidney stones, cystitis, urinary tract infection, which may cause mild abdominal or back pain, and may be accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, or painful urination.
3. Gynecological issues: Such as chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, ovarian cysts, which may cause mild abdominal pain. Treatment depends on the specific cause and may involve anti-inflammatory medication or surgical intervention.
4. Musculoskeletal issues: Abdominal muscle strain, hernia.
5. Nervous system issues: Such as irritable bowel syndrome, a functional bowel disorder often accompanied by abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits.
6. Poor eating habits: Eating too quickly or consuming contaminated food may lead to gastrointestinal dysfunction and cause abdominal pain. It is important to improve eating habits and maintain food hygiene.
To obtain an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, it is recommended to seek timely medical evaluation and undergo relevant examinations.
