Doctor's answer (1)
Dr. Shen Yonghua

For the relief of persistent vomiting, the following measures are recommended:

1. Maintain hydration and electrolyte balance: Frequent vomiting can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance; therefore, it is important to replenish fluids and electrolytes. Oral rehydration salt solutions are recommended, as they effectively replace lost fluids and electrolytes such as sodium and potassium.

2. Light diet: After the vomiting subsides, gradually resume eating, starting with liquid foods such as porridge and clear soup. Avoid oily, spicy, and hard-to-digest foods that may irritate the stomach.

3. Medication: Under a doctor's guidance, antiemetic medications such as metoclopramide (Reglan) and domperidone (Motilium) may be used. These medications can suppress the vomiting center or enhance gastric motility, thereby alleviating vomiting symptoms. Please note that these medications should be taken under medical supervision to avoid self-medication.

4. Rest: Getting sufficient rest helps the body recover and alleviates the discomfort caused by vomiting.

If vomiting persists or is accompanied by other severe symptoms, it is advisable to seek timely medical attention for examination and treatment.
