What is AIDS? I think I might just have a skin allergy.
I am a 30-year-old male. Recently, I developed rashes and itching on my skin, and I suspect I may have a skin allergy. However, after some initial research, I have become concerned about the possibility of having contracted HIV/AIDS. Could my condition be related to HIV/AIDS?

AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, is primarily transmitted through sexual contact, blood transmission, and mother-to-child transmission. Skin symptoms of AIDS may include rash, itching, and shingles, but these symptoms are not unique to AIDS and could also be caused by skin allergies, eczema, and other conditions.
If patients are concerned about possible HIV infection, they should undergo HIV testing as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis. Skin symptoms alone cannot be used to determine whether someone is infected with HIV, as these symptoms might also indicate other health issues. It is important to keep the skin clean and avoid scratching to prevent worsening of symptoms. If diagnosed with HIV infection, timely antiviral treatment can effectively control the disease progression.
