What to do about pruritic skin diseases
In the past few days, I have always felt some skin itching and suspect it might be a pruritic skin disease. May I ask, how should pruritic skin diseases be managed?

Pruritic dermatoses are common skin conditions that can be caused by various factors, including but not limited to allergic reactions, dryness, infections (such as fungal or bacterial), neurodermatitis, eczema, urticaria, and others. Treatment plans depend on the specific cause and generally include the following:
1. Moisturizing: Keep the skin clean and avoid using irritating cleansers or skincare products. Refrain from scratching the affected areas to prevent worsening of the condition. Maintain a light diet and avoid consuming spicy or irritating foods.
2. Avoidance of irritants: Identify and avoid possible irritants or allergens, such as certain foods, cosmetics, and detergents.
3. Antiallergic medications: Oral antihistamines, such as cetirizine and loratadine, can relieve itching and alleviate allergic symptoms.
4. Corticosteroid creams: For more severe cases, corticosteroid medications such as dexamethasone and prednisolone may be required.
5. Antibiotics or antifungal medications: If infection is the underlying cause, a physician may prescribe appropriate antibiotics or antifungal drugs.
6. Psychological intervention: For skin conditions associated with psychological factors, such as neurodermatitis, psychological support or behavioral therapy may be beneficial.
If necessary, seek timely medical attention and follow the guidance of a physician for treatment.
