Symptoms of Anal Fissure
I have frequently experienced severe anal pain during bowel movements recently, accompanied by minor bleeding. The symptoms have persisted for several weeks without improvement. I suspect I might have an anal fissure and would like to know what symptoms are associated with this condition.
Anal fissure is a common anorectal condition. Patients often experience severe tearing pain during bowel movements, which may last from several minutes to hours and may reoccur shortly after defecation. In addition, patients with anal fissures often notice bright red blood on the surface of the stool or on the toilet paper during bowel movements.
For the treatment of anal fissures, patients are advised to increase their dietary fiber intake to soften the stool, thereby reducing irritation and pressure during defecation. At the same time, patients can also apply topical analgesic ointments or take sitz baths under a doctor's guidance to relieve pain and promote wound healing. If symptoms are severe or persist, prompt medical attention is recommended.
