An anal fissure is one of the common diseases affecting the anal area. Patients usually experience severe pain during bowel movements, which may temporarily subside after defecation but is often followed by persistent pain. In addition, anal fissures can cause bleeding, typically bright red blood that may appear on the surface of the stool or on toilet paper.

Patients are advised to visit the proctology department at a hospital. It is also important to adjust lifestyle habits, including increasing dietary fiber intake and water consumption, while avoiding spicy and irritating foods. Maintaining anal hygiene by washing with warm water after bowel movements and avoiding aggressive wiping is recommended. If symptoms of anal fissure are severe, long-lasting, or unresponsive to non-surgical treatments, surgical intervention may need to be considered.
