I had breast augmentation surgery a year ago, and recently I started to feel some abnormalities in my chest. I am very concerned that these might be postoperative complications from the breast augmentation. Dr. Chen Lu

Complications of breast augmentation surgery include infection, bleeding, implant rupture or displacement, abnormal breast sensation, capsular contracture, complications involving the nipple or areola, breast asymmetry, and scarring.

If any of these issues occur, patients are advised to communicate promptly with their doctor and undergo regular breast examinations, especially monitoring the condition of the implants. During the postoperative recovery period, it is important to follow the surgeon's instructions, ensure adequate rest and proper care, avoid strenuous activities and pressure on the chest area, to promote healing and reduce the risk of complications.
