How is breast augmentation surgery performed?
I would like to improve the shape of my breasts and am interested in breast augmentation surgery. I would like to learn more about the specific procedures involved in this surgery.

Currently, the two most common types of breast augmentation surgeries are autologous fat transfer breast augmentation and implant-based breast augmentation.
Implant-based breast augmentation: The surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes an incision beneath the breast, in the armpit, or around the areola, and then places the implant behind the pectoralis major muscle or between the breast tissue and the pectoralis major muscle.
Autologous fat transfer breast augmentation: Fat is harvested from areas of the patient's body where there is an abundance of fat deposits. After processing, the fat is placed into an intravenous bag and allowed to settle into layers, followed by centrifugation. After injecting tumescent anesthesia into the subcutaneous layer of the breast, superficial or deep layers of the pectoralis major muscle, the processed fat mixture is then evenly and slowly injected in a fan-like pattern into the breast area by overlapping injections while withdrawing the needle.
