Can I eat leeks after having double eyelid surgery?
After getting double eyelid surgery, I would like to know whether I can eat Chinese chives, as I am concerned it might affect wound healing.

You can consume leeks after double eyelid surgery, but in moderation.
Double eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure that creates a crease in the upper eyelid by removing part of the eyelid tissue. Leeks are rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber, which provide essential nutrients to the body and help boost immunity and promote metabolism, thus facilitating the healing and recovery of the eyelid incision. However, leeks are also somewhat irritating; excessive consumption or an allergic reaction to leeks may cause skin discomfort or affect wound healing. Therefore, patients should consume leeks in moderation.
During the recovery period after double eyelid surgery, you should avoid eating spicy and strongly stimulating foods. These foods may accelerate local blood circulation, increase the risk of swelling and bleeding at the incision site, and delay the healing process. It is advisable to follow your doctor's dietary recommendations shortly after surgery and choose mild, easily digestible foods such as porridge, steamed fish, and vegetables, while ensuring adequate protein intake to aid wound healing. You may gradually return to a normal diet once the wound has largely healed and there is no obvious redness, swelling, or pain.
